Study Plan
The basic study plan of the Japanese Tea Tradition Communial Study Group is based on learning the Nyumon-Konarai-Chabakodate contents of the Kyojō study permit system of the Urasenke school. In addition, in each method/way of making tea, acting in the role of an assistant (Hanto) or the first guest (Shokyaku) is practiced.

Learning and the fulfillment of the learning goals are monitored with a Learning Goal Card distributed to the study group members, on which the participants can mark the achieved competence goals.

In addition to the Nyumon-Konarai-Chabakodate contents, we study the necessary ancillary skills, such as
  • participant's role and activities
  • making tea sweets (chagashi)
  • preparing the tea room for the occasion
  • flower arrangement (chabana)
